New Year's Fireworks in United Arab Emirates Set 2 World Records

PERMATA POSTS KIND, DUBAI - The celebration of New Year's Eve 2022 in the United Arab Emirates, to be precise at Ras al-Khaimah, broke two Guinness world records.

The action that wowed hundreds of thousands of spectators welcoming the new year was called the "Highest Altitude Multirotor/Drone Fireworks Display".

The fireworks are 1,055.8 meters high, taller than any skyscraper in the world.

According to Gulf News, the second Guinness World Record title is for the farthest operated multi-rotor/drone, which launches fireworks simultaneously.

452 drones launch fireworks simultaneously and create a "Happy New Year" visual in the sky.

The 12-minute spectacle is choreographed with orchestral music and also honors and marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE.

At its peak, there is a display of multi-colored lights followed by a large white expanse that illuminates the Ras Al-Khaimah skyline with messages of hope and ambition.

The organizing committee explained that the event was a form of appreciation to the leadership and people of Ras Al-Khaimah.

"With this event, we are once again underlining Ras Al-Khaimah's reputation as a leading tourist destination that welcomes visitors from all over the world," he said.
