Israeli Foreign Minister: We Don't Need US Permission to Attack Iran

PERMATA POSTS KIND, TEL AVIV - Israel says it does not need US permission to attack Iran.

This was conveyed by the Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid as reported by RT, Saturday (1/1/2022).

“Israel will do whatever it needs to do to protect its security. And we don't need anyone's permission for that," Lapid told Channel 12, Friday (12/31/2021).

He added that these rights have been attached to and owned by Israel since it was first established.

When asked whether Israel has the means to launch an attack, Laid replied that Israel has that capability.

"And Israel will protect itself from Iranian threats," Lapid said.

Previously, a number of Israeli officials and Israeli military figures had considered an attack on Iran since the resumption of talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.

A number of world powers and Iran are discussing the possibility of reviving the nuclear deal, which has the official name of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Under the JCPOA, Iran agreed to curb its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions.

Former President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew the US from the JCPOA in 2018, calling it the worst deal ever.

Israel was thrilled when Trump pulled the US out of the deal. Now, when the JCPOA talks take place under the leadership of US President Joe Biden, Israel does not like it.

On the other hand, Iran said it didn't really care about any threats that came from Israel.

Tehran says Israel's threat is just an empty threat. Nevertheless, Iran insists it will retaliate for any acts of aggression.
