The beggar who is good at speaking English turns out to be a former lecturer.
The old man said he did not come to ask for money, but he was hungry and wanted to eat.
“Miss, I'm sorry, but I have to tell you something. Please don't be angry and sorry to bother you but I will not ask for money, I will ask for food to eat, because I am hungry, "wrote Ares imitating what the old man said.
Feeling sorry, Ares took him to one of the restaurants in the mall. Actually there was something that made Ares curious.
Because, the old man uses English which is quite fluent. With his condition as a beggar, a little did not expect him to be able to speak English.
Therefore, Ares asked. Then he got the fact that the 70 year old man was named Jansen Locsin.
He is a former lecturer and graduate of Ateneo de Manila University, one of the best universities in the Philippines.
According to Locsin, he once had a business in Cebu. But eventually went bankrupt. He has a mother and sister, but they don't care about him so they live separately.
At the end of the story, Ares gives him a bottle of water and 100 pesos. The old man had refused before Ares insisted as a goodbye.
With Ares's story, he hopes the Locsin family can contact him.
