Malaysian student Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam was sued for RM1 million, equivalent to US$209,000, for complaining about his teacher throwing obscene jokes at him.
Adapting The Star Thursday (05/08), this 17-year-old student confides about this on her Twitter account. "Hi, today Ain suddenly received a letter of demand for 'slanderous statements'," he said.
In this letter, Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam is given 7 days to pay off all the demands. He is required to pay RM 1,000,000, COMPENSATION."
At the end of his post, he asked for support and prayers from netizens so that all matters would be made easier. He closed the post with the hashtag #MakeSchoolASaferPlace.
In his father's Twitter post, Saiful Nizam Abdul Wahab said the letter sent at 14.00 was addressed to Ain Husniza, himself and his wife.
"We received a letter of complaint from Tetuan Rasshidi Ema & Yung. On the advice of a lawyer, we will not be making any comments so far." wrote
Saiful Nizam also noted that the letter was from a sports teacher at the school where his daughter studied previously.
